75 days ... dun dun dun
That's right, somehow I only have 75 days left until Grant makes his appearance (assuming he comes anywhere close to his due date).
He is now the size of a squash

This apparently causes him to kick and punch and hiccup constantly! He is definitely one active little boy.
I got an invite to my own baby shower in the mail today, the time is flying by like crazy!
I got pampered through my first mother's day this past weekend with a dinner of steak and pasta made completely by Jon and a gift of a body pillow (who knew it would really help!!)
I have to say I'm pretty happy that last week saw me passing my Gestational Diabetes test and my blood pressure was back down in a normal range, I had about convinced myself I was destined to have this baby asap and was pretty freaked out!
I also finally met another doc in my OB's practice that I liked and feel good about! This was just in time to hear I now go for bi-weekly appointments and that my doc is back from maternity leave!!! YAY
Jon and I have been slowly getting the house in order, we put up curtains downstairs this week and have started moving our living room into the much child friendlier ex-office.
We also had my grandfather's piano moved from my grandmother's nursing home into my house today which is a nice thing to have around!
All in all things are great, I have certainly felt better in my life but as long as my bp stays down and Jon continues to run up and down the stairs for my every need I'll be fine haha.

Trip to Tulsa...
Last week, Jon, Mom, and I headed over to Tulsa to update my registry and do some shopping. After spending some quality time with the registry gun at BRU we headed out and discovered Peek-a-Boo Baby and I found several pieces of art for Grant's room. I am really excited about them!!!

Odds and Ends
So we've begun to assemble things...I kept saying we needed to just so the dogs could get used to all the baby stuff. Of course they haven't so much as looked at the pack n play or the swing so far so hopefully that will continue.
I was so set on Grant going directly to his crib in the nursery but the more I talk to people, the more I am realizing this might be a bigger battle than it is worth. Mom had already purchased a pack n play for her house and has handed it over for us to have in our room for the first few weeks at least (I'm still determined he will be in the nursery fairly soon). Jon got it set up (with little cussing and only a few glances at the directions) and it is now residing in the corner of the bedroom.

We also have the swing set up in the living room for the dogs to get used to, they don't seem to care but we have yet to put in the batteries and get it going, so we shall see.

I've also started my "suggested reading list" compiled from Melissa and Shannon. I've started with this one...
and then will go on to this one...

as well as the one in my last post that Shannon recommended.
I'll leave you with some new pics of the newest animal baby in the family...Bella! (2 weeks old)

Our eggplant...
Yup, that's right, I somehow let Grant get to the size of an EGGPLANT (!!!) before starting any sort of record of this journey. (Score one mom point for me!).When we started this process in November, he was a wee poppy seed, now I'm 25 weeks pregnant with a crazy kicking baby boy.
I saw my stomach move with his kicks yesterday which was a whole lot of strange but very nice at the same time. He seems to be transverse at the moment as I get slammed in my far right and left sides as opposed to the center of my belly. Fine now, not so sure how that will feel when he's 7lbs!
I don't really know where to start as I've let a whole 25 weeks go by without a peep. First thing's first, Jon and I found out we were expecting a baby right before Thanksgiving '08 . After an initial freak out, we embraced and studied the world of OB's, cribs, and cravings!
In March, we found out our baby is a he, now a Grant, and I slowly stepped away from the infant girl dresses and ran for the puppy dog onesies. Everyone seemed to know he was a boy, I didn't have one person guess 'girl'. Grant didn't want to cooperate at the big ultrasound but I begged the tech to let me jump around and try again because as I said "I don't do green".
Soon after the shopping ensued and we now own this bedding....

which I am in love with and debating not even painting the nursery as it's the same color as the picture above.
At this point, I'm trying to get my registry up to snuff and get on top of my reading. My cousin Shannon, aka my new found pregnancy guru, has told me to immediately read this book...
so I am planning on starting all 500+ pages of it this week, I am always up for an excuse to go to the bookstore. Now if only I can get motivated! Haha.
